Mrs Folasade Adefisayo
Renowned Educationist | Former Commissioner for Education, Lagos State
Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, Principal Consultant and CEO of Leading Learning Ltd, founded her education consulting firm in 2014.
With nearly 40 years of diverse professional experience, she specializes in teacher training, leadership development, and school transformation for clients ranging from public and private schools to governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Transitioning from banking to education, she served as Executive Director and CEO of Corona Schools Trust Council from 2002 to 2010. She thereafter voluntarily served as the Director of Corona Secondary School, Agbara from 2010 to 2014, followed by various roles in school management. In 2011, she decided to further her education and embarked on post-graduate studies in education at the University of Nottingham, where she graduated with distinctions at both the diploma and master's levels.
Recognized for her contributions, she received the Merit Award from the Federal Republic of Nigeria. During her tenure as the Hon. Commissioner for Education in Lagos State from 2019 to 2023 during the Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu first tenure, Mrs. Folasade spearheaded initiatives to enhance the educational landscape in Lagos state.
Passionate about education activism, Mrs. Folasade volunteers extensively to address the learning crisis in Nigerian schools, collaborating with various government entities and NGOs including the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind, Volunteer Corps, Junior Achievement, Fate Foundation, Yedi, Teach for Nigeria, Oando Foundation, and SWORTE Talks among others.
Without relenting, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo currently serves on various boards of organizations in and outside Nigeria, these includes serving as the current chairman of the Atlantic Hall School board, chairman of the Oxbridge College board, Member of the Federal Nigeria society for the Blind Board, founding member of Teach for Nigeria, Member of the African Leadership Academy, Johannesburg Board (ALA), Member of the Princeton in Africa Board, Member of the WIMBIZ board amongst others.
