TALK OF THE TOWN

My first experience of The Parenting Conference was in 2024.

Let me start with the lineup of speakers who were amazing and more. No parent, guardian or caregiver would have left that hall the same way they came.

The presentations and discussions spoke to the realities of modern-day parents. Whether it was about discipline, academics, raising future-ready children or structure in the home, there was something for everyone.

The event was carefully curated and well-organised.

I can't wait to attend the next Conference.

The Parenting Conference in 2024 was absolutely incredible. It was wholesome, Intentional and meaningful. Every session I attended opened me up to an area of myself as a parent; I wasn’t being as intentional as I should. I was so focused on being a great parent that I could sometimes forget my kids need me whole, and that was a major part of the topics covered. I appreciated the fact that most of the topics centred on me as a parent being the best of myself, mentally, emotionally. Spiritually and physically. I got a lot of practical tips that have helped me parent more intentionally rather than always second-guessing my actions. I learned things like delegating tasks and setting boundaries around my time and energy to avoid exhaustion and burnout.

I also gained clarity as to taking time to reflect on the quality of children I want to raise and doing what needs to be done to achieve that, beginning with placing value on myself, my time and energy.

Something profound that one of the speakers said that I held to heart was to prioritise progress over perfection by letting my kids handle some difficult situations by themselves. Teach them to think through a challenge rather than always coming to their rescue.

The lessons from the conference were invaluable and too numerous to list. I appreciate the team for such an enriching experience.
